Honor X9 5G was announced in Malaysia as the new budget 5G smartphone from the Chinese tech company. As for the key highlights, the handset comes with a fast refresh rate punch-hole display, Qualcomm’s octa-core 5G chipset, big battery, triple rear camera, fast charging, fingerprint sensor, and more. It arrived as the rebadged version of Honor X30 which was unveiled back in December last year.

Honor X9 5G flaunts a 6.81 inches IPS LCD display with a Full-HD+ ( 1080 x 2388 pixels ) resolution, 16.7 million colors, 19.9:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz fast refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered with a Snapdragon 695 octa-core chipset that comes coupled with Adreno 619 GPU. On the front software, the device is running on Android 11 OS out of the box with Magic UI 4.2 skin on top. It measures 166.07 x 75.78 x 8.05mm and weighs 189 grams.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Honor X9 5G features a triple rear camera that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera under the punch-hole at the top center. The handset is packed with a 4800mah battery and supports 66W fast charging. 

For RAM and storage, it is accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be extended via a MicroSD card slot. For connectivity options, the smartphone includes 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, and a USB-C port. Sensors onboard, the phone includes a Gravity Sensor, Compass, Gyroscope, Ambient Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, NFC, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The pricing and availability details for Honor X9 5G will be announced on March 29 at 8:30pm MYT (6pm IST), when Honor will launch a new X-series product in Malaysia. The smartphone is already listed on the company’s Malaysian Website. The handset comes in three color options namely Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, and Ocean Blue.
