Lava has launched a new affordable X-series smartphone, called the X2, in India. It is an online-exclusive device and is priced at Rs. 6,999 for the 2GB/32GB model. It is currently up for pre-bookings. The sale of the handset will begin on March 12 via Amazon India and Lava e-store. It features a MediaTek Helio chip, an HD+ IPS display, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The Indian market has been seeing an increase in the number of budget-range smartphone launches. Along with that, consumer behavior indicates that buyers prefer e-commerce sites over traditional retail stores these days. The company has taken both of these points into consideration with its online-only smartphone, the X2. Keeping up with the trends, the company has tried to include some attractive features in the phone.
The Lava X2 bears a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) IPS LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The smartphone features a waterdrop notch design with a prominent bottom bezel, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock for biometric authentication. On the rear, it sports a vertical camera unit.
Under the hood, the Lava X2 is powered by an unspecified octa-core MediaTek Helio processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In terms of connectivity options, the smartphone offers support for Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm audio jack, 4G, and a Type-C port.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Lava X2 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup, comprising an 8MP main shooter and an AI sensor. Up front, it sports a 5MP snapper for selfies and video calls. On the front software, it boots Android 11 (Go edition) and packs a 5,000mAh battery.
For official pricing and availability, the Lava X2 is priced at Rs. 6,999 for the sole 2GB/32GB model. It is available for pre-bookings via Amazon India till March 11 at a discounted price of Rs. 6,599. The smartphone is offered in Blue and Cyan color options. The handset will be up for grabs from March 12.
