South Korean tech giant, Samsung has introduced a new mid-range device, called the Galaxy A53 5G, in the Indian market. It carries a starting price-tag of Rs. 34,499 and is currently available for pre-orders via the official company's website. As for the key highlights of the smartphone, it has a 120Hz screen, a water resistant build quality, 5G connectivity, four cameras on the back, and a 5,000mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G was announced globally last week alongside the A33 and A73 models. Apart from the key highlights mentioned before, it supports Samsung Knox security and an 'Alt Z' function that hides the user's private content with a single button. At around the Rs. 35,000 price-point, the smartphone will rival against mid-rangers from brands like OnePlus, Vivo, and Xiaomi.
The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G flaunts a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone has slim bezels, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole cut-out on the front. The rear section gets a rectangular quad camera unit. The handset also boats an IP67 dust and water resistance.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has a quad camera island at the back, which includes a 64MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro shooter. Up front, the device packs a 32MP selfie camera. Under the hood, there is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W wired fast-charging via the Type-C port.
At the heart, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is fueled by a 5nm Exynos 1280 processor and runs on Android 12-based One UI 4.1 out of the box. The smartphone comes in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variants with expandable storage of up to 1TB via a microSD card. It comes in shades of Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Peach, and Awesome White.
For official pricing and availability, Samsung Galaxy A53 5G costs Rs. 34,499 for the 6GB/128GB model and Rs. 35,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. The pre-orders for the handset are currently live and it will become available for purchase from March 25 onward via authorized retail outlets, Samsung's e-store, and partner online sales channels.
