Oppo has unveiled on April 18 (Monday) its new A-series smartphone in China, called Oppo A55s 5G which is the company’s latest pocket-friendly device. It comes with all useful specs and features under the budget such as an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, a triple camera setup on the rear and a massive 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging. It also brings a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
The Oppo A55s 5G features a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It comes with a 60Hz refresh rate, 60Hz touch sampling rate, and 480 nits of brightness. The display also has a teardrop notch for the selfie camera. Moreover, the device is offering a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The dual-SIM supporting smartphone runs on Android 11 out of the box with ColorOS 11.1 out of the box.
In the camera department, the Oppo A55s 5G has offered a triple camera unit on the back panel that includes a 13MP primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front panel, it comprises an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calling. For the battery, it is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging.
Under the hood, Oppo A55s 5G has arrived with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC along with ARM Mali G57 MC2 GPU. The smartphone is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Though, users can expand its storage capacity via a microSD card. Onboard sensors are an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and gyroscope. Connectivity options are Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, 5G, 4G LTE, and a USB Type-C port.
For pricing and availability, the Oppo A55s 5G comes in two variants, the 6GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage model carries a price tag of CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs. 13,200) while the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model has been priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs. 14,400). For now, the smartphone is available for purchase in China which comes in three color options, Temperament Gold, Rhythm Black and Brisk Blue.
