Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce its 12 Pro model in India. The company has teased the smartphone with the tagline "The Showstopper." While we don't have an official launch date yet, tipster Ishan Agarwal has claimed that the handset will be launched in India this April 2022. The India-bound 12 Pro is expected to have similar specifications as the Chinese variant.

The 12 Pro is Xiaomi's top-tier handset which was first unveiled in China in December last year alongside the Xiaomi 12 and 12X models. The flagship smartphone was launched in the international market last month and it is now coming to India to take on flagship offerings such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and the newly-launched OnePlus 10 Pro.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro offers a 6.73-inch QHD+ (1440x3200 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 480Hz touch sampling rate, and 1,500-nits of peak brightness. The handset gets Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display. The smartphone has a punch-hole cut-out on the top-center, slim bezels, curved edges, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP (f/1.9) primary sensor, a 50MP (f/1.9) telephoto camera, and a 50MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide snapper. On the front, it packs a 32MP camera for taking selfies. The rear camera setup can film videos in 8K resolution at 24fps, while the front snapper shoots 1080p videos at 60fps.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. At the heart, it runs on the latest MIUI 13, based on Android 12 OS. The smartphone packs a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, NFC, 5G, and a Type-C port.

As for official pricing and availability in China, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a price-tag of CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 56,300) for the base 8GB/128GB variant. The range-topping model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at CNY 5,399 (nearly Rs. 64,700). In India, we expect it to cost around Rs. 60,000 and should be available in Blue, Purple, and Gray colors.
