Vivo has launched a new Y-series smartphone. The company has launched the Vivo Y55 4G in Vietnam as its new mid-range device. The Y55 might arrive later this year in India and other markets. Vivo has not confirmed any details regarding the same. It features a polycarbonate build with a plastic frame, Snapdragon chipset under the hood and a dual-camera setup on the back
The Vivo Y55 4G comes with a 6.44-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The AMOLED display has a 180Hz touch sampling rate and supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut. It has a waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera and a thick chin bezel. The smartphone runs Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box. The handset comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock.
On the back, there is a rectangular camera module. The Vivo Y55 4G has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera. There is a 2MP depth sensor as well. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone has a 16MP front camera sensor. The handset has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. In terms of dimensions, it weighs 182 grams and is 8.42mm thick.
The Vivo Y55 4G packs a 5000 mAh battery. It supports 44W fast charging out of the box. Under the hood, the device draws power from a Snapdragon 680 SoC. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 4GB of virtual RAM support, which is drawn from the 128GB of internal storage. There is support for memory expansion using a microSD card slot. It also supports dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, etc.
For official pricing and availability, Vivo has launched the Y55 4G in Vietnam. The smartphone arrives in a single 8GB + 128GB storage option and two colours. The smartphone is priced at VND 6,990,000 (roughly Rs 23,200). The handset comes in two colours – Black Star and Snow White. The device might arrive later this year in India and other markets.
