Honor has expanded its X-series and launched a new smartphone in China – Honor X40i. As for the key highlights, the new device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset with up to 12GB of RAM, a 50MP dual rear camera setup, and a 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. The Honor X40i has arrived with a 6.7-inch full-HD LTPS LCD display with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. It carries a 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, The smartphone has provided an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC clubbed with Mali G57 GPU. The handset comes with up to 12GB of RAM, though, RAM can be expanded up to 5GB via smart expansion technology. For inbuilt storage, it brings up to 256GB storage.
On the front, the Honor X40i gets an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calling, with an f/2.0 aperture. On the camera front, the smartphone brings a dual-rear camera setup that houses a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, and a 2MP depth-of-field camera with an f/2.4 aperture. On the software front, the handset runs on Android 11 OS out of the box, with MagicUI 6.1 on the top.
The Honor X40i packs a 4,000mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging technology. The company has included a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Talking about connectivity features, the smartphone includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Besides, it measures 162.9 x 74.5 x 7.43mm and weighs 175 grams.
The Honor X40i is available in three storage variants – the base 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage carries a price tag of CNY 1,599, while the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model comes at CNY 1,799. The top-of-the-line 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model has been priced at CNY 1,999. The smartphone has been launched in four color options, i.e. Black, Green, Rose, and Silver. Open sales start in China on July 22.
