OnePlus has finally launched its highly anticipated OnePlus Nord 2T 5G in India. The handset was earlier launched in global markets and finally arrives in India. The smartphone can be considered as a refreshed version of the OnePlus Nord 2 device that was introduced in India back in 2021. It gets a revised design, an improved Dimensity processor, and enhanced fast charging technology over the outgoing model.

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G takes the “Why fix it, if it isn’t broken?” approach and retains the 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED panel with Full HD+ display resolution and a 90Hz screen refresh rate. The overall design and form factor remains the same but gets a redesigned camera island and a different camera sensor placement. It carries the left-aligned punch-hole camera cutout as the previous OnePlus Nord 2 handset.

The major difference in this new OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is the inclusion of the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset. It gets the same core design, similar clock speeds, and is even built on the same 6nm TSMC process as the Dimensity 1200-AI processor. However, it gets the latest MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 gaming tech as against the HyperEngine 3.0 on the Dimensity 1200.

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is equipped with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. In the camera department, it continues with the primary 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP monochrome sensor. Selfie duties are handled by the 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor at the front.

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G runs on Oxygen OS 12 on top of Android 12 out of the box. The HyperEngine 5.0 offers AI-VRS graphics enhancement, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Hybrid 2.0, and wireless earphone latency improvements by offering Bluetooth LE Audio technology with Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio. The HyperEngine 5.0 is touted to uplift the gaming experience and at the same time reduce battery consumption.

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, signature alert slider, stereo speakers, 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 6, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port, among other features. It is powered by a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery, which is now coupled with an 80W SuperVOOC as opposed to the 65W charging support in the Nord 2. The company claims it can go from 0-100 percent in just 27 minutes.

For official pricing and availability, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G comes at a starting price of ₹28,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant. The top variant with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at ₹33,999. It will be available for purchase from July 5, 2022 via E-commerce company Amazon, OnePlus’ website, and other offline stores.
