Lee Seung Gi gets honest about his insecurity and reveals that he almost had it altered. The 35-year-old South Korean heartthrob wowed the whole K-drama fandom with his impeccable acting skills. He portrayed various characters and his drool-worthy visuals is stunning. However, just like ordinary people, the "Vagabond" star once felt insecure about his physical appearance.
The award-winning actor appeared in an episode of SBS' tv show "Circle House." He admitted that he previously thought about getting a nose job. Per SBS Star, the "Mouse" star alongside his fellow hosts Ha Ga In, Noh Hong Chul, Oh Eun Young, and Lee Lee Jung, talked about self-esteem and being contented with their physical appearance.
Lee Seung Gi opened up about his biggest insecurity and pointed out how he "disliked" his nose, revealing that he almost had plastic surgery. "After I completed my military service, I suddenly started disliking the way my nose looked. It looked so weird for some reason. So, I began to think about getting a nose job," he said.
The actor thought that if he underwent cosmetic surgery and had a nose job, he "just think that it would magically improve" his acting. Moreover, Lee Seung Gi also detailed how obsessed he was at the time to alter his face saying that he was "literally inseparable from the mirror while having that thought."
Interestingly, what made the hosts surprised is that the "My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho" star nearly had it done and actually booked an appointment with the surgeon without the knowledge of his agency. "I consulted the doctor and set a date for my surgery. I even put a deposit down. I couldn't let my agency staff know about it, though," he explained.
The actor also shared that he wanted to do it "as discreetly as possible" since he was told that the procedure would be simple and would only have "subtle difference that it would be hard to tell" that he had his nose fixed. Lee Seung Gi also shared what prompted him to ditch the surgery.
After some realization, the actor weighed the pros and cons about it, saying, "But after I returned home that day, I ended up changing my mind. I thought about the pros and cons and came to the conclusion that it was best not to get a nose job." Lee Seung Gi even joked about "making a living" with his current appearance, so he might as well "live like this," pointing out how "it worked out."
The 35-year-old South Korean actor solidified his career in both the drama and action genres. After debuting in 2005, Lee Seung Gi is among the bankable K-drama stars and not to mention one of the highest-paid actors. In addition, he also has a slew of recognitions under his belt from Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, and two Baeksang Arts Awards.
