The Vivo has unveiled its latest smartphone of the Y-series in Indonesia – Vivo Y22. It is an affordable smartphone that comes with 4G networks and a waterdrop-style notch. Some of the main features of the Vivo Y22 are an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, a 50MP dual-rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Currently, the handset is listed on Vivo’s online store in Indonesia.

In terms of display, the Vivo Y22 comes with a 6.55-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 720 x 1612 pixels resolution. It features 89.67 percent screen-to-body ratio and 530nits of peak brightness. The smartphone brings a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The dual-SIM supporting device runs on Android 11-based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box. 

In the camera department, the Vivo Y22 has provided a dual-camera setup on the rear that houses a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens, and a 2MP bokeh sensor with an f/2.4 lens. Talking about front camera, it brings an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 lens for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is offering up to 128GB of inbuilt storage that is further expandable via a microSD card (up to 1TB).

On the SoC front, the Vivo Y22 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM. Further, the RAM can be expanded up to 8GB using inbuilt storage. Users get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Other notable sensors are an accelerometer, light sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and gravity sensor. The device has an IP54-rated certificate for dust and water resistance.

The Vivo Y22 comes in two variants – the base 4GB RAM with 64GB storage model carries a price tag of IDR 2,399,000 while the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model pricing detail hasn’t been mentioned yet. It is currently listed on the company’s own website in Indonesia. The device will be available for purchase soon in the country with three color options, i.e. Metaverse Green, Starlit Blue, and Summer Cyan. The pricing and availability details for the global markets are yet to be announced.
