South Korean dramas and actors are back in the spotlight on the international arena. This time, they were nominated for the 50th International Emmy Awards. The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recently released the nominations for this year's International Emmy Awards . 

The awards show appreciation for television programs that are not produced and broadcast in the United States. The Korean drama The King's Affection was nominated in the Best Telenovela category. They were nominated alongside Nos Tempos Do Imperadar (Brazil), Two Lives (Spain), and You Are My Hero (China).

Regarding this achievement, Yoon Jae Hyuk, as an executive producer, said he was very grateful to the Korean and global public who liked The King's Affection. "We were able to accept this nomination because of the love and interest of our viewers in Korea and globally," said producer Yoon Jae Hyuk.

"We will continue to give everything in producing Korean dramas that viewers will love more and more," he concluded. Not only The King's Affection, actor Lee Sung Gyun was also nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor category. He was nominated in the category for his role in the series Dr. Brain that airs on Apple TV+.

Lee Sung Gyun was nominated in the category alongside Sverrir Gudnason (A Royal Secret), Scoot McNairy (Narcos: Mexico), and Dougray Scott (Irvine Welsh's Crime). The 2022 International Emmy Awards will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 in New York.
