South Korean actor, Song Joong Ki finally returned to the small screen through the Korean drama Reborn Rich. This is the actor's comeback drama after his success with Vincenzo. Reborn Rich tells the story of Yoon Hyun Woo (Song Joong Ki), a very loyal secretary for a conglomerate family.
One day he is framed for embezzling funds by the family he has been serving and eventually dies. But afterwards, he was reincarnated as the youngest son of the conglomerate family named Jin Do Joon. He then plans to take over the company in revenge. Apart from Song Joong Ki, Reborn Rich also stars a number of top actors.
Among them are Shin Hyun Bin, Lee Sung Min, Jo Han Chul, to the appearance of SNSD's Tiffany. This series officially premiered on November 18, 2022. With a line-up of top actors and an interesting plot, the first episode managed to set a record for Korean drama ratings broadcast by JTBC. Reborn Rich is the highest-rated Korean drama on JTBC for its premiere in 2022.
Based on data from Nielsen Korea, the first episode of this drama received a national rating of 6.1 percent. Reborn Rich is also the drama with the second highest premiere rating on JTBC in history. The first position is still occupied by The World of the Married which premiered with a rating of 6.3 percent.
In the press conference before the broadcast, Song Joong Ki revealed the reasons that attracted him to star in Reborn Rich. He also revealed the things that make this drama exciting for the audience. "Even though there are many projects related to the stories of conglomerates, the fact that this drama tells a story based on past events is very exciting for me," said Song Joong Ki.
"The tension that arises during the mental battle between the president of a giant company and his youngest grandson is an important point. All mental battles will unfold in an interesting way when Jin Yang Chul and Jin Do Joon deceive each other and pretend to trust each other," he concluded.
