Kim Hyun Joo's actions can be witnessed again in the near future. He will star in a Netflix film titled JUNG_E. JUNG_E is a science fiction film set in the future when Earth is getting closer to being destroyed due to the climate crisis. Meanwhile humanity resides in shelters built in outer space. But far from being peaceful, they had to face decades of civil war.
Yun Jung Yi (Kim Hyun Joo) became a legendary soldier with countless victories, but failed to carry out the last mission and was left in an coma due to serious injuries. Jung Yi was then reborn as a combat robot with artificial intelligence named JUNG_E through brain cloning and underwent various war simulations at the Chronoid Laboratory.
This brain cloning research was led by Jung Yi's son Yun Seo Hyun (Kang Soo Youn) who is now older than his AI mother. In the trailer officially released by Netflix , Jung Yi wakes up and sees the clones in the form of an army of JUNG_E robots standing in front of her, while her own body has turned into a robot.
The next scene shows Jung Yi's robot running away from humans, while the head of research at the Chronoid Laboratory, Kim Sang Hoon, looks increasingly ambitious in carrying out various experiments. On the other hand, Yun Seo Hyun felt deep emotions when she heard her mother's painful screams.
What exactly is the connection between the three of them and what kind of mystery will it uncover? JUNG_E was directed by Yeon Sang Ho who was successful through the Hellbound series and the film Train to Busan. JUNG_E can be watched on Friday, January 20, 2023.
