After 6 years together, MOMOLAND members have agreed to separate. The news was delivered directly by the members. On February 14, 2023, the six MOMOLAND members released written statements with similar content on their respective Instagram accounts. Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy revealed their decision to part ways in Korean and English.
"First of all, we want to apologize to Merries (MOMOLAND fans) for knowing this news through a news article. We apologize for being late in informing," said MOMOLAND. "After long and in-depth discussions, the six of us decided to support one another as they make new starts," he continued. Even so, MOMOLAND insists that the six of them will still be a team.
They are grateful to the fans who have created memories together with MOMOLAND. "Even though we decide to pursue our own dreams, MOMOLAND will still be a team," said the members. "We sincerely want to thank our beloved Merries for creating precious memories and being by our side for the last seven years. Merries is everything to us and always will be," he added.
At the end of the statement, MOMOLAND again apologized to fans for not immediately disclosing this news. They also asked Merries to provide support to all members. "We apologize profusely for not being able to provide news immediately. However, we sincerely want to thank those of you who have been willing to wait patiently," said MOMOLAND.
"In the future, we hope that you will continue to support and love MOMOLAND, as well as the paths taken by each member," he concluded. Previously, the six MOMOLAND members decided to leave MLD Entertainment. They agreed not to renew the contract with management.
