LE SSERAFIM has again shown they are one of the representative K-Pop groups of this generation. Their latest release, the full album UNFORGIVEN, was greeted with great fanfare until it skyrocketed on the Billboard 200 chart. The Source Music group is officially the fastest K-Pop girl group to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart.
Currently, the album UNFORGIVEN is ranked 6th on the Billboard Top 200 album chart, which is the most popular album chart in the United States. With this achievement, it's safe to say that LE SSERAFIM is currently stealing attention and is on the rise among K-Pop listeners in the United States.
Moreover, this was achieved by Sakura Cs only a year after their debut. Reported by Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music), physical album sales of UNFORGIVEN in the United States reached 38,500 copies. This album has also been streamed and downloaded to reach sales equivalent to 45 thousand album units as of May 11, 2023.
It is known that every 10 albums downloaded via digital platforms are equivalent to sales of 1 physical album copy. Meanwhile, for streaming on platforms like Spotify, 1,500 new streams count for sales of 1 album copy. Of course LE SSERAFIM is not the first K-Pop group to gain popularity on the same chart. They followed the success of other groups including BLACKPINK, TWICE, aespa, and ITZY.
These are the only names that have made the top 10 of Billboard's Top 200 albums chart. Not only that, the achievements of LE SSERAFIM through UNFORGIVEN. They also became the first K-Pop girl group in history with two albums in the top 20 of the Billboard 200 with ANTIFRAGILE (2022) previously at number 14, then UNFORGIVEN which was at position 6.
UNFORGIVEN is LE SSERAFIM's first full-length album since their debut in 2022. This album will contain a compilation of their previous two EPs, namely 3 songs from the album FEARLESS (The World Is My Oyster, Fearless, and Blue Flame) packaged in a new version. Source Music labeled this song with the nickname '2023 Ver.' behind the title.
3 songs from the ANTIFRAGILE album are also included in the UNFORGIVEN album. Among them are The Hydra, Antifragile, and Impurities. Unlike the three songs on FEARLESS which have new versions, the three songs from the ANTIFRAGILE album seem to be identical to last year's mini album.
Besides the 6 songs, there are 7 new songs included in the album UNFORGIVEN: Burn the Bridge (which was used as the title in the video trailer for this album), UNFORGIVEN (title track; collaboration with Nile Rodgers), No-Return (Into the unknown), Eve Psyche and the Bluebeard's Wife, Between You Me and the Lamppost, Flash Forward, and Fire In the Belly.
