NCT 127 will hold a concert in Nagoya, Japan. But unfortunately, on this occasion, one of the NCT 127 members, Taeil, was unable to participate after testing positive for Covid-19. On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, SM Entertainment announced that based on test results, Taeil tested positive for Covid-19 while undergoing quarantine in Japan in accordance with local regulations.
"We inform you of the news that member Taeil will not be participating in the Valentin Dome Nagoya concert of NCT 127's second world tour Neo City: Japan – The Link to be held on May 22," SM Entertainment said. However, both Taeil and the other NCT 127 members tested negative prior to their departure for Japan from Korea.
All NCT 127 members are quarantined for a few days after arriving in Japan, as required by local Covid-19 regulations. In order to participate in scheduled activities in Japan, Taeil underwent a PCR test, and after testing negative, he left Korea for Japan on May 15.
After arriving in Japan, he self-isolated for three days in accordance with local regulations related to Covid-19," SM Entertainment explained. "On May 18, he again underwent a PCR test to shorten the quarantine period, and his test result came back positive," he added. Luckily, the other eight members of NCT 127 all tested negative for Covid-19.
In addition, their quarantine requirements have also been lifted. Taeil has also reportedly received three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and is currently asymptomatic. Due to this condition, Taeil will miss the NCT 127 concert at Valentin Dome Nagoya, Japan on Sunday May 22, 2022.
According to SM Entertainment, Taeil is currently focusing on his recovery by undergoing treatment during self-isolation. "All other NCT 127 members besides Taeil have tested negative for Covid-19, and since they were not classified by Japanese health authorities as being close contacts after May 16, 2022 their quarantine has been lifted," SM Entertainment revealed.
Therefore, we ask for understanding from fans regarding the fact that the on Sunday, May 22, 2022 Valentin Dome concert in Nagoya will be held with only eight members: Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan."
