NCT DOJAEJUNG officially debuted with their first mini album Perfume with the title track of the same name. This is the latest sub-unit of K-pop group NCT in 2023 announced by SM Entertainment. Perfume, which was released today, Monday, April 17, presents the electro R&B genre with a funk side.
The combination of Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo's vocals also includes this song with lyrics full of romance. The song contains lyrics that are expressions of love to someone. They want to immortalize the love in a fragrance that can be stored.
The music video, which looks flirtatious and sweet, shows the three members of NCT DOJAEJUNG going on a journey to create a perfume that they made themselves. Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo present beautiful vocals and riffs.
The masculine choreography also emphasizes the concept of Perfume. Before the music video, SM Entertainment released a music movie that shows Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo's perspectives on their respective love stories. The day before they also held Perfume Launch Day in commemoration of the debut release.
Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo also showed their best vocals through five other tracks, such as Kiss, Dive, Strawberry Sunday, Ordinary, and Can We Go Back which was previously performed at MBC Gayo Festival. Meanwhile, Doyong, Jaehyun and Jungwoo re-joined a sub-unit.
All three are members of NCT 127, another sub-unit of NCT. NCT fans who welcomed the trio's debut marked with #WelcomeToDOJAEJUNG on social media. As for NCT DOJAEJUNG's mini album, Perfume can be listened to starting today, Monday, April 17 physically and digitally.
