Stray Kids' Hyunjin has officially become the new face of the Versace brand. On Thursday July 20, 2023, a representative from Versace shared the reasons for choosing Hyunjin as their global ambassador. "Hyunjin is a multi-talented member of the Korean boy group Stray Kids.
Hyunjin is receiving a lot of attention for his unique and charming appearance as a dancer, rapper, and vocalist of Stray Kids along with his boundless artistic talents, including his love of art," said a Versace representative such as quoted from Soompi on Thursday, July 20, 2023.
Donatella Versace commented, "I am delighted that Hyunjin is joining the Versace family. I have always been inspired by new voices that are defining global culture, and Hyunjin represents her as an icon of new energy and creativity. I admire her confidence and liberal way of expression. There is no doubt that she is truly a Versaceian."
Meanwhile, Hyunjin also expressed his feelings for being chosen as the global ambassador for the famous Italian brand. "I am very excited to begin my journey as a global ambassador for Versace and create beautiful moments together. I am inspired and honored to be part of the fashion house's extraordinary legacy.
Donatella believes in me for having the Versace attitude, and I am also looking forward to the artistic synergy with Donatella," said Hyunjin. As a global ambassador, one of the activities that will be carried out by Hyunjin is leading the Versace Holiday 2023 campaign consisting of photos and videos which will be released in November.
On the same day of the announcement, Hyunjin attended Versace's "La Vacanza" fashion show with American rapper Future, actress Simone Ashley and singer Troye Sivan, as well as attended the official opening of the Versace pop-up in Seoul earlier this month. In May this year, Hyunjin also drew attention when he appeared at the Versace x Dua Lipa collection launch event in Cannes, France, showing a dazzling 'Versace' look.
Not only that, Hyunjin is also joined by the likes of Chinese singer, actress and model Chris Lee, who is leading the Versace Icons campaign alongside Anne Hathaway. Meanwhile, on July 21, Hyunjin will appear with Stray Kids and will headline the opening night of the three-day Lollapalooza festival in Paris.
