NewJeans as representatives of passionate young people participated in the theme song for a world-class e-sports tournament held in South Korea. An anthem song entitled 'GODS' depicts the story of the unbreakable and unwavering spirit of Kim Hyuk Gyu and Lee Sang Hyeok who won the 'League of Legends World Championship' last year.

Reporting from MBC Entertainment News, on Wednesday October 4, 2023, Riot Games as the developer of the game 'League of Legends' released the song and music video for 'GODS' via the official YouTube channel 'LoL' and several domestic and international music sites on the 4th at 14.00 KST.

The theme song 'GODS' is an impressive song that contains the unique sensibility of the 'League of Legends World Championship'. The unique combination and vocals of NewJeans (Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein) radiate enthusiasm for those who listen to this song.

Even though NewJeans' voice remains distinctive, through the song 'GODS', NewJeans displays a different genre and vocal style from the songs NewJeans has performed so far. Specifically, the song was completed in collaboration with Riot Games' chief composers, Sebastien Najand and Alex Seaver.

Both of them have actively participated in many 'League of Legends World Championship' theme songs, including the song 'Legends Never Die'.  'League of Legends World Championship', is the most prestigious e-sports tournament on a world scale which will be held in Korea for the first time in the last five years.

NewJeans became the first full K-pop group to sing the theme song in this competition. Through 'GODS' NewJeans again proves their global status and influence. Apart from NewJeans, world-class artists such as Imagine Dragons and Lil Nas This is an impressive achievement for NewJeans considering they have only just debuted a year ago.

The song 'GODS' performed by NewJeans is included in the tenth theme song list for the 'League of Legends World Championship'.  The music video for 'GODS' released on YouTube depicts 'Deft' (Kim Hyuk Gyu) who won the 'League of Legends World Championship' last year.

He is in the middle school classroom where 'Deft' and 'Faker' (Lee Sang Hyeok) spend their school days together. The scene continues to roll until the dramatic victory scene in the final of last year's 'League of Legends World Championship' is shown.
