BLACKPINK's Jennie recently showed her extraordinary generosity. Quoting from KBIZoom on Thursday May 16, 2024, it was revealed that Jennie made a large donation to the Habitat for Humanity Korea organization. The non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity Korea announced that Jennie had donated 100 million won in the name of the BLINK fan club.
The donation aims to support the construction of schools to help the younger generation of Koryo-saram (ethnic Koreans in post-Soviet countries who are of Korean descent living in the Russian Far East) adapt healthily to Korean culture and society.
The donation will be used for the Rodem International Alternative School construction project in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, led by Habitat for Humanity Korea. Rodem International Alternative School serves as a foundation for Koryo-saram youth residing in Korea, allowing them to balance their lives and education.
However, due to living conditions unsuitable for group living and the lack of official school accreditation, building appropriate school structures is urgently needed. “We are grateful for Jennie's sincere contribution on behalf of the BLINK fan club, helping build a school where children can realize their dreams.
"We will strive for a speedy start to the construction project," Habitat for Humanity Korea said. Meanwhile, Jennie has been known as an idol who was successful at a young age with extraordinary achievements. He also loves his fans very much and appreciates their support. It's not surprising that he donated in the name of the BLINK fan club.
Not long ago, Jennie became the first Korean and K-pop artist to be personally invited by Anna Wintour as part of the VIP guests at the 2024 Met Gala. Coming to this prestigious event, Jennie was even named Best Dressed Celebrity by Billboard, Rolling Stone, MTV, WWD, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and many other fashion magazines.
Apart from that, Jennie recently also made a breakthrough in the music industry with her collaboration with ZICO through the digital single 'SPOT!'. The song managed to top charts such as Melon, Heni, Bugs, and Flo, and won awards on Korean music shows.
