International band Coldplay is confirmed to be releasing a new album on October 4, 2024. The new album, entitled Moon Music, will be Coldplay's 10th album as well as the band's newest music project after releasing Music of the Spheres in 2021.
The news of the release was announced directly by Coldplay through announcements on social media and the band's official website. "Coldplay have just announced the release of their highly anticipated 10th album, Moon Music," wrote Coldplay on their official website on Monday June 17, 2024.
"This recording will be coming to stores and streaming services soon on October 4, 2024," he continued. Coldplay also posted an official poster for the album Moon Music which shows a portrait of a blue sky with colored lights forming a crescent moon pattern. This album also continues Coldplay's commitment, which is known to actively pay attention to environmental issues.
This commitment is demonstrated through the production of Moon Music's physical album which uses processed plastic bottles from recycled waste. This material is said to be able to prevent the production of more than 25 metric tons of pure plastic and reduce production process emissions by up to 85 percent compared to traditional vinyl manufacturing processes.
"This is also the first album in the world to be released on a 140g EcoRecord LP, using each copy produced from 9 recycled PET plastic bottles from post-consumer waste," wrote Coldplay. Coldplay's comeback through this album will begin with the release of the first single entitled feelslikeimfallinginlove which is scheduled for release on June 21, 2024.
Moon Music will also be produced again by Max Martin, who previously contributed to the album Music of the Spheres (2021) which became successful on the international stage thanks to the songs Higher Power and My Universe. This project has even been leaked several times by Martin since January 2023.
He once mentioned that Coldplay was completing the second album for the Music of the Spheres series. Coldplay is also said to have the possibility of performing these new songs at various concerts. Coldplay have been involved in the world music industry since their debut in the late 1990s with the album Parachutes (2000) and hit singles such as Yellow.
Coldplay returned to enliven the music world for almost three decades with other hit albums, such as A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), X&Y (2005), Mylo Xyloto (2011), A Head Full of Dreams (2015), to Music of the Spheres (2021).
