ILLIT's Wonhee was forced to limit his participation in group activities due to a recent ankle injury. The Belift Lab agency announced that Wonhee suffered an ankle injury earlier this week and had received quick medical treatment.
"Wonhee injured her ankle while filming content earlier this week and has since received medical treatment. The medical staff recommended that she wear a brace and minimize excessive movement," said Belift Lab as quoted by Soompi on Friday June 14, 2024.
The agency further stated that Wonhee can still participate in the Weverse Con Festival AliExpress 2024 performance, but she will sit on stage without participating in the choreography in order to minimize any more serious injuries.
Belift Lab also stated that Wonhee's participation in the remainder of ILLIT's upcoming activities will be adjusted based on her condition and recovery. The idol is very determined to attend all the group's previously scheduled events.
However, his participation will be adjusted depending on the circumstances, placing his recovery as the top priority as recommended by the medical staff. "We will do our best to help Wonhee's treatment and recovery so that he can return to his fans' health as soon as possible," concluded Belift Lab.
Meanwhile, Wonhee is a member of ILLIT who was introduced as a contestant in the girl group survival show made by Belift Lab entitled 'RU Next' in 2023. In the final round, Wonhee managed to get first place overall, making him an ILLIT member. She debuted with ILLIT in March 2024 with the release of the mini album 'Super Real Me'.
ILLIT's main song entitled 'Magnetic' achieved very high popularity. In the first week of June, the song topped Billbiard, ranking 17th on the Global chart and 21st on the Global 200. In addition, the mini album 'Super Real Me' was ranked 7th on the 'World Albums' chart, and ILLIT was ranked 23rd on the 'Emerging Artist' chart.
'Magnetic' also set a record on Spotify as the fastest debut song from a K-pop girl group to surpass 200 million streams. This song was also ranked 45th on Spotify's 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart for the last week of May. Hopefully ILLIT's Wonhee will recover quickly and be able to carry out activities as usual.
