South Korean girl group BLACKPINK is set to make a comeback next year by YG Entertainment. The news was conveyed directly by YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk, who revealed the agency's plans for 2025.

The agency said it would prepare for a comeback for BLACKPINK even though its members are now in other agencies to carry out solo activities. "Next year there will be a highly anticipated comeback from BLACKPINK," said Yang Hyun-suk in a video on YouTube on Monday July 22, 2024 early morning.

"Next year will also be the time for BLACKPINK to do their world tour ," he continued, without providing further details regarding the new project. The announcement comes after much speculation about BLACKPINK making a comeback in 2025 after releasing Born Pink in September 2022.

BLACKPINK also had a world concert tour titled Born Pink World Tour which was held from October 15, 2022 to September 17, 2023. They started the tour in Seoul, South Korea and continued to the United States, Canada, and several European countries.

The four BLACKPINK members then departed for the Asian region, such as Indonesia on March 11 and 12, 2023 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK). BLACKPINK officially closed their Born Pink concert tour at Gocheok Sky Dome which can accommodate 35 thousand spectators for a two-day concert.

BLACKPINK has debuted since 2016 by releasing two studio albums. The first album titled The Album was released in 2020, then there was Born Pink (2022).
They have also released 12 singles throughout their career, releasing songs titled Whistle and Boombayah when they debuted.

Next, there are several hit songs, such as Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du, How You Like That, Pink Venom, and Shut Down throughout their 7-year career. In November 2023, BLACKPINK reportedly agreed to a new contract with YG Entertainment to continue group activities with the agency.

However, each member chose to continue solo activities with their respective agencies. Some BLACKPINK members even launched their own agencies, starting with Jennie with ODD ATELIER, Jisoo with BLISSO, and Lisa with LLOUD. While Rosé officially joined THEBLACKLABEL.
