BTS's Jin will reportedly be a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. Quoting from Allkpop on Tuesday July 2, 2024, South Korean news outlet media reported that Jin will participate as a torchbearer at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics on July 27, 2024.
Jin will likely be flying to Paris soon. However, the location and date have not been announced yet. Following his release from his mandatory military service in June, Jin has been doing a lot of solo activities. In addition to being rumored to be an Olympic torchbearer, the oldest member of BTS is now reportedly preparing to make a comeback with a new song.
On the other hand, the torch for the Paris Olympics was lit in Greece and arrived in France last month. It will travel through about 400 locations, covering a distance of 12,000 km, before arriving at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics on July 27, 2024 (South Korean time).
There are around 11,000 torchbearers who will participate, including BTS's Jin, athletes, Holocaust survivors, relatives of the Nice terror victims, and sanitation workers. Meanwhile, the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will be held from July 27, 2024 to August 11, 2024.
A total of 15,000 athletes from 206 countries will compete in a total of 329 events in 32 sports. South Korea itself will send 142 athletes from 21 sports, with the hope of winning gold medals in archery, fencing, badminton, and taekwondo. The send-off ceremony for the athletes from South Korea is scheduled for July 9, 2024.
In addition to the news of representing South Korea as an Olympic torchbearer, Jin was also recently rumored to be appearing on an MBC variety show titled 'Relax and Rest'. And has finished filming the program. However, the broadcast date itself has not been announced yet.
This is Jin's first appearance on a variety show after he officially completed his military service.
