The latest Korean drama titled ' DNA Lover ' has shared a leak of the character played by Choi Siwon ahead of its premiere. Carrying the romantic comedy genre, 'DNA Lover' tells the story of Han So Jin (played by Jung In Sun), a genetic researcher who has failed many times in love and is obsessed with finding her partner through gene compatibility.

The drama is directed by Sung Chi Wook, the director behind the success of the dramas 'Tomorrow' and 'Kairos', while the script is written by Jung Soo Mi who previously worked on the drama 'Born Again'. Super Junior's Choi Siwon plays Shim Yeon Woo, a gynecologist who practices at his own clinic, Shim Clinic.

Shim Yeon Woo is very good at charming women, and all women seem to melt for him. However, if a woman starts to be possessive and obsessed with him, Shim Yeon Woo will leave her. Choi Siwon also expressed his feelings of satisfaction and happiness for being given the opportunity to star in 'DNA Lover'.

"I am very happy to be able to greet viewers after a long time through the role of Shim Yeon Woo. I did my best on set with a great director, writer, staff, and fellow actors," said Choi Siwon as quoted by Soompi on July 19, 2024.

He added, “The filming set was always filled with laughter, so I think it will be a great memory. I am looking forward to the drama. I hope you will laugh and feel joy while watching ‘DNA Lover.'” The production team of 'DNA Lover' praised Choi Siwon's acting quality which is very suitable for the romantic comedy genre.

“Choi Siwon will once again prove his status as the ‘rom-com king’ through ‘DNA Lover.’ Please look forward to the premiere of ‘DNA Lover,’ which will be even more exciting thanks to Choi Siwon,” said the production team.

Choi Siwon has previously proven his acting skills through 'She Was Pretty', 'Revolutionary Love', 'Work Later, Drink Now', 'Love is for Suckers', 'Death's Game', and many more. Meanwhile, 'DNA Lover' will premiere on August 17, 2024, every Saturday and Sunday at 21:10 KST.
