Kaleb J is a young RnB singer who is on the rise. Having had great success with his debut single It's Only Me (2020), this graduate of The Voice Indonesia 2019 has consistently released other cool songs. Most recently, Kaleb released two singles titled Melepaskanmu and Di Balik Pertanda.
Released one by one, both are taken from Off Guard , Kaleb's upcoming mini album (EP). The song Melepaskanmu was released on May 15, 2024 as the first single from the EP Off Guard. The lyrics contain the meaning of a process of letting go of a loved one as a struggle that is not easy.
The story in the first single then continues to the single Di Balik Pertanda which was released on August 23, 2024. This song tells the story of someone who is hesitant, after letting go of the person he loves, he still hopes they can be together even though the signs show otherwise, as quoted from Billboard Indonesia.
Kaleb himself acknowledged the interconnected meaning of Letting You Go and Behind the Signs as his attempt to convey the relationship experiences he had experienced as a complete story. Still reported from Billboard Indonesia, Kaleb J is ready to open a new era in 2024 with his second EP, Off Guard.
The release of this EP is highly anticipated because it has been quite a long time since he released an EP since 2021. In addition, there is still a story that Kaleb really wants to convey in full through this work. There are three other tracklists that will be released together with the EP, namely Blanket Heart, Adinda, and For You.
Entering a new era, many differences in terms of music and writing style have developed without forgetting Kaleb J's distinctive characteristics. " In terms of the story context, it is still about heartbreak with a specific story theme, " said Kaleb.
So far, the musician under the label Passion Vibe has consistently released works with the theme of heartbreak. Evidently, his songs have succeeded in attracting the interest of many music listeners in the country. Starting from It's Only Me and Now I Know (2021) which went viral in 2021.
These two singles have each surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. The success of It's Only Me on TikTok also brought Kaleb to win the Viral Song of the Year category at the 2022 TikTok Awards Indonesia.
