Ahead of its premiere, JTBC's latest Korean drama titled ' Romance in the House ' has provided a sneak peek of the character played by SHINee's Minho. 'Romance in the House' tells the story of a family, a man is alienated after divorcing his wife and separated from his family after all his businesses fail.
The drama is directed by Kim Da Ye who previously worked on 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty', while the script was written by Kim Young Yoon from 'My Secret Romance'. In this drama, Minho plays Nam Tae Pyeong, a former national taekwondo player who is now a security guard at a large supermarket.
Nam Tae Pyeong is actually the son of the CEO of J Plus Mart, the supermarket where he works, but he hides his identity. He thinks that having a conglomerate father has nothing to do with him and lives his life independently.
Nam Tae Pyeong is in a romantic relationship with Byun Mi Rae (played by Son Naeun), who works as a merchandiser for the food and beverage team at J Plus Mart. "I prepared various styles and acted with different facial expressions and gestures depending on the situation.
I tried to make viewers more immersed in Tae Pyeong's story and emotions," Minho said as quoted by Soompi on August 1, 2024. Minho also added that he intentionally kept his distance from his co-star, Son Naeun, in an effort to perfect his character development.
According to Minho, he did that to create an awkward feeling with his co-star so that his acting could look more natural. Minho's efforts have raised anticipation for his appearance. Viewers are looking forward to seeing how Minho will show strong and sweet chemistry with Son Naeun in the drama.
Minho has previously proven his acting skills through a series of popular Korean dramas, including 'Yumi's Cells', 'Lovestruck in the City', '18 Again', 'To The Beautiful You', and many more. Meanwhile, 'Romance in the House' is scheduled to air on August 10, 2024, every Saturday and Sunday at 22:30 KST.
