Young and talented singer, Niki Zefanya, or better known by her stage name NIKI, is currently on her solo tour in North America. The world tour titled 'Buzz World Tour' has been going on since September 5, 2024. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old singer had to cancel 2 concerts in 2 cities at once because the tickets were not sold out.
This news was conveyed by NIKI directly through an Insta Story upload on her personal Instagram account on Wednesday September 25, 2024. In her upload, NIKI said honestly that her concerts in Minneapolis and Portland which were supposed to be held on September 27 and October 17, 2024, had to be canceled. "Portland - I'm so sorry, but unfortunately we have to cancel the show. Minneapolis - I know you're waiting for an explanation.
So I appreciate your patience while I push behind the scenes to tell you the real reason. Instead of 'unforeseen circumstances,'" NIKI wrote in her post. "I know you've made plans to see me and are feeling confused and disappointed. The truth is that we were unable to sell enough tickets to make the Portland and Minneapolis shows happen this year," she continued.
In more detail, NIKI honestly said that every show that is held requires funds to cover expenses. Such as renting a place, paying staff, to the band, crew, and other productions. Before deciding to cancel her 2 concerts, NIKI also explained that she and her team had done many things or tried their best to still hold the show on the set date. By lowering ticket prices, and doing more local promotions.
But unfortunately, the efforts made were not successful, without having to affect the other show schedules. NIKI also realized that this cancellation might make her fans feel disappointed, even though she had explained it as it was. However, as someone who believes in honesty, NIKI prefers to say it as it is rather than cover it up with other reasons.
Furthermore, the singer revealed that she was proud of the 'Buzz World Tour' show that she had prepared. The opportunity to play her songs live in front of fans is what has kept her going all this time. In her upload, NIKI also did not blame this situation on anyone.
