Ranma 1/2 is returning with a remake as part of the Fall 2024 Anime season . Fans can now check out the latest trailer released ahead of its October airing. In celebration of Shogakukan's 100th anniversary, several of their major franchises are being revived in various formats. 

One of Rumiko Takahashi's legendary works, Ranma 1/2, will bring back the characters from the original adaptation with a completely new twist. The Ranma 1/2 remake will debut on October 5 exclusively on Netflix. The original voice cast from the first anime adaptation are returning to reprise their roles.

There are Rei Sakuma as Shampoo, Tomokazu Sugita as Tatewaki Kuno, Ayane Sakura as Kodachi Kuno, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Tofu Ono, Mamoru Miyano as Mikado Sanzenin, and Aoi Yuki as Azusa Shiratori.

They will be joined by Kappei Yamaguchi who reprises his role as Ranma Saotome, Megumi Hayashibara as the female version of Ranma, and Noriko Hidaka as Akane Tendo. Konosuke Uda will direct the anime under MAPPA, with Kimiko Ueno as scriptwriter, Hiromi Taniguchi as character designer, and Kaoru Wada handling the music composition. 

The opening theme song titled Iinazukekkyun is performed by ano. Meanwhile, the ending theme titled Anta Nante is sung by Riria. The Ranma 1/2 series  first appeared in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 1987 and continued for several years. 

It tells the story of Ranma Saotome, a young man who has been trained in martial arts since childhood. Ranma is matched with Akane Tendo, his childhood friend who will inherit the job of managing the Tendo Dojo, the family dojo located near their home. However, Ranma has an accident and falls into a cursed spring in China called Junsekyo. 

The water has magical powers that turn Ranma into a girl whenever he is exposed to cold water and he can only return to his male form if exposed to hot water. This gender-swapping comedy series features hilarious moments as Ranma tries to use his curse to solve various problems, but his efforts often end up creating new problems.
