Comedian Lee Jin Ho revealed that he was in debt due to illegal online gambling and had borrowed money from many people, including fellow celebrities. Media outlet TenAsia has reported that Lee Jin Ho's total debt is hundreds of millions of won. Through his Instagram, he claims to pay the debt regularly every month and intends to pay off the debt in full.

Fellow celebrities who are said to have lent money to Lee Jin Ho include BTS's Jimin, Lee Soo Geun, Young Tak, Ha Sung Woon, as well as various broadcasting executives, producers, and writers. In response to the ongoing situation, BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed, "As reported, it is true that financial problems have occurred [with Jimin].

He lent money with a signed promissory note." TenAsia reports that several celebrities who trusted Lee Jin Ho and lent him money without a promissory note are now at risk of facing a large tax bill from authorities because these transactions were classified as “gifts” instead of “loans.”

Additionally, some have reportedly chosen to file fraud charges against Lee Jin Ho and pursue confiscation of his appearance fees. In particular, TenAsia revealed that when they directly inquired with HYBE about the situation, it was revealed that Lee Jin Ho approached BTS's Jimin in 2022.

To Jimin, Lee Jin Ho told Jimin that he needed urgent funds and wanted to borrow 100 million won for just one week. Although the promissory note was signed, Lee Jin Ho failed to comply with the agreement. Jimin reportedly concluded that Lee Jin Ho had no intention of paying the money, so he decided to make amends by suggesting that he pay it over 10 years.
