The One Piece anime announced that it will be on hiatus for six months. Although this was predicted, many fans are still anxious about the long wait ahead. The hiatus will last until April 2025, giving the production team a break and providing some distance between the manga and anime storylines.

Adapted from Eiichiro Oda's epic adventure manga, the One Piece anime has graced the small screen since it first aired in 1999 and has released a total of 1122 episodes. The One Piece anime has almost caught up with the manga in terms of episode count and this has caused some issues that have hampered the viewing experience for many fans.

This hiatus will hopefully give the studio time to fix the situation. This isn't the first time One Piece has taken a hiatus to avoid catching up with the manga. In recent years, Eiichiro Oda has taken frequent breaks, only releasing around 30 chapters each year. The One Piece anime is scheduled to return in April 2025 with a new airing time.

Fans will also be treated to more exciting things, as the production team promises a fresh original soundtrack and updated sound effects. Although the wait has been tough, the end result is expected to bring a major improvement in animation quality as well as a more mature and structured story adaptation.

While waiting, Toei Animation has prepared several interesting projects for One Piece fans , one of which is the Fishman Island Arc Re-Edition. The One Piece anime is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary with a variety of exciting projects and collaborations.

Some of these include a Las Vegas takeover, a t-shirt collaboration with UNIQLO, a gaming chair collection with TTRacing, a special recap video, and more. Episode 1123 of the One Piece anime is scheduled to air on October 27, 2024. You can watch the series on Crunchyroll, Netflix, iQIYI, Bstation, and Vidio. Meanwhile, to follow the latest manga chapters for free, you can visit the VIZ site or the MANGA Plus site.
