Netflix is set to launch a spy thriller series, Black Doves, starring Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw. Created and written by Joe Barton, the series will run for 6 episodes. Harry Munday is producing. The streaming platform released a number of previews and announced the broadcast date which will fall on December 5, 2024. Black Doves  itself offers an exciting story set in the lively city of London amidst the Christmas atmosphere. Keira Knightley plays Helen Webb, a smart, humble, and dedicated wife and mother—and a professional spy.

For the past decade, she has been secretly leaking her politician husband's secrets to the secret organization he works for, the Black Doves. When her secret lover, Jason, is murdered, her boss Reed orders her old friend Helen to protect him. Sam Young, a charismatic assassin and champagne enthusiast, is assigned to look after Helen.

However, after a long absence from the spy world due to a failed mission that ended tragically, Sam returns to a London that has changed a lot without him. As his past begins to catch up with him, Sam's job is now to protect Helen as she investigates who killed Jason and what the motive behind the murder is. They begin a journey that leads them into a vast and interconnected conspiracy.

A dark web connecting London's criminal underworld to a looming geopolitical crisis leaves them questioning the value of every moral decision they've ever made. Apart from Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw, Black Doves also features Sarah Lancashire, Andrew Koji, Andrew Buchan (Carnival Row), Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), Adeel Akhtar (Fool Me Once), and Tracey Ullman (The Tracey Ullman Show).

Other supporting actors include Kathryn Hunter (Andor, The Tragedy of Macbeth), Sam Troughton (Chernobyl, Mank), Gabrielle Creevy (In My Skin, Three Women), Ella Lily Hyland (Fifteen Love, Silent Roar), Adam Silver (The Diplomat , Masters of The Air), Ken Nwosu (Look the Other Way and Run), and Omari Douglas (Rye Lane, It's A Sin).
