NewJeans' Hanni made fans worried after being caught in the chaos at Incheon International Airport on December 28, 2024. However, the Vietnamese idol immediately gave an update on her current condition to allay fans' worries.

Previously, NewJeans arrived at Incheon airport after completing their schedule for the 2024 Asia Artist Awards in Bangkok. However, a commotion occurred due to overzealous fans who violated safety protocols. Despite the presence of security guards, Hanni appeared shaken as she was surrounded by rushing fans.

The idol was even caught covering her face with both hands. Minji was seen comforting her distressed colleague during the chaos. As footage of the incident spread online, sparking concern among fans, Hanni took to social media to update her on her condition.

"I'm fine now. I apologize for worrying you," she wrote. "While I'm really happy to have the opportunity to meet Bunnies (NewJeans fandom), we can have a good conversation without creating an uncomfortable or dangerous situation. I hope you don't feel rushed," Hanni continued.

On the other hand, NewJeans members now have to face a lawsuit filed by ADOR because they still cannot accept Hyein terminating their contract with them. However, NewJeans members assert that ADOR has failed to protect them.

In addition, Hanni is now accused of being an illegal immigrant. According to a report by 10Asia on December 20, someone even reported the 2004-born idol to South Korean Customs asking for Hanni to be deported.

Since Hanni holds dual citizenship for Australia and Vietnam, the idol has to renew her visa in South Korea every year. She was previously granted an E-6 visa through ADOR. Due to the termination of her contract, Hanni no longer has a valid visa.

If the termination of the contract is effective on November 29, 2024, as claimed by the NewJeans member, Hanni's visa is said to have also lapsed. However, Hanni is still working using a visa issued through ADOR.

This creates a contradictory situation because Hanni is using a visa from an agency whose contract she has canceled herself. This can even be interpreted as an admission that the exclusive contract with ADOR is still valid.

ADOR, which facilitated Hanni's visa issuance, has stated that the idol's visa will expire early next year. "We are preparing the necessary documents to extend her visa according to the procedure," ADOR said.

To obtain a new E-6 visa, one needs to submit several documents, including a copy of an exclusive contract with an agency registered under the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Promotion Act and more. This process usually takes quite a long time, around 2–3 months.
