BoA shared a heartfelt message following her apology after going live while drunk. On April 15, 2025, the singer uploaded a long note on Weverse to reveal her emotional burdens over the past few years.
BoA wrote, "For the past few years, I've been going through difficult times—not only professionally, but also personally. I believe I've done my best, but I realize that the way I've moved forward may have made some people uncomfortable." BoA reflected on how her mindset has evolved.
"In the past, I thought that just doing what I was told and doing it well was enough. However, as the world changed and I changed, I found myself constantly questioning whether this was still the right place for me," said the "Step Back" singer.
Despite her recent controversy, BoA insists she will never give up her music career. "Because if I lose music, I feel like my whole life will be ruined," said the senior idol who is part of the unit group Got the Beat.
BoA then added, "That's why, in any form or way, I want to stay connected with you through music. Even in the times when I collapse and feel like I can't stand up anymore, you guys and music, are still there."
BoA also revealed that she is no longer young. "I don't know how much longer I will be able to stand on stage. We are all getting older. However, I still believe that there is a burning potential in all of us," she said.
"I want to find that spark again with you. Thanks to all of you who believed in me, worried about me, and silently supported me, I can still say today, I am BoA," said the singer of "Only One".
The message comes after BoA's controversy over a live broadcast with announcer Jun Hyun Moo. The idol made disparaging remarks about comedian Park Na Rae while responding to a comment from a viewer of the live broadcast.
Viewers asked about the possibility of a romance between Hyun Moo and Na Rae. However, BoA replied, "I don't think they will date. Oppa is too good for her (Park Na Rae)," which drew criticism for being rude.
In response, BoA issued a public apology, stating: "I sincerely apologize to Park Na Rae for making inappropriate remarks while she was away, and I am thankful that she was understanding.
I also want to apologize to my fans, who have supported me for so long, for disappointing them." Jun Hyun Moo also apologized and said he immediately contacted Na Rae after the broadcast.
