Japanese actor and singer Mizuki Itagaki has died at the age of 24. Mizuki Itagaki, who began his career at the age of 10 under Stardust Promotion, was known for his roles in film and television, as well as his involvement in the boyband M!LK.
Mizuki Itagaki's family announced in a statement on her Instagram account on Thursday on April 17, 2025 that he had passed away due to an unexpected incident. According to the statement, Itagaki had been missing since late January 2025 and had been battling mental illness since last year.
“He had just started taking steps back to work, so it is heartbreaking that his life ended this way – something he probably never expected,” the statement said. Throughout his disappearance, his family has worked with friends and law enforcement to find him.
Tragically, police recently informed the family that his remains had been found in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The family also expressed their gratitude to all those who had supported Mizuki Itagaki throughout his life and apologized for not being able to give him a proper farewell.
“We hope you will continue to remember Mizuki and the work he has done with warmth in your hearts.” In 2014, Mizuki Itagaki made his film debut in “Dark Gold Ushima-kun Part 2” and gained recognition for his role as Kazuhiko Kambara in “Solomon's Perjury” (2015).
That same year, he appeared in the NHK taiga drama “Hana Moyu” as Mōri Motoakira. Mizuki Itagaki also pursued a music career, becoming an official member of M!LK in 2014. The group, formed by EBiDAN, has amassed a dedicated fanbase.
