After successfully surprising fans with his platinum blonde hair color at the Prada Spring Summer 2025 Womenswear Show, now Jaehyun has given another surprise. This NCT boyband member is reportedly going on hiatus due to his mandatory military service.

The man whose real name is Jung Yun-O will carry out his duties in November 2024. Jaehyun is currently busy after releasing his solo debut with the album "J - 1st Album" on Monday, August 26, 2024. He has a number of agendas to promote his first solo album.

This activity will probably be the 27 year old singer's last activity before undergoing military service. News of Jaehyun's hiatus was also conveyed via NCT 127's official Weverse on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Jaehyun becomes the second NCT member to enlist after Lee Taeyong.

SM Entertainment announced that Jaehyun's enlistment has been accepted by the South Korean military service administration. Jaehyun will begin basic military training on Monday, November 4, 2024. And is expected to serve until May 2026.

Unlike Taeyong who serves in the Navy, Jaehyun will be placed in the Army Military Corps. The agency also advised NCTzen, NCT fans, not to come to the military camp on the first day of military service. Unconducive situations are feared to occur.

Crowds and traffic jams are also a concern for SM Entertainment if the military camp is filled with NCT fans. "We ask for fans' support and love to always support Jaehyun until the day he completes his military service in a healthy and happy state," SM Entertainment wrote as the last sentence in its announcement.
