On May 13, 2025, K-pop fans were shocked by the official announcement from Yuehua Entertainment regarding the future of the group EVERGLOW. In a statement released through their official fancafe, the agency stated that the exclusive contracts with the six members of EVERGLOW — Sihyeon , E:U, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren —will expire in June 2025 and will not be renewed.

This news also marks the end of the collaboration between the group and Yuehua after six years of working together, quoted from Soompi on Tuesday May 13, 2025. EVERGLOW, who debuted in March 2019, is widely known for songs such as 'Bon Bon Chocolat,' 'Adios,' and 'DUN DUN.'

With their energetic performances and eye-catching visuals, they have managed to gain global attention and build a solid international fanbase. However, the group's activities have slowed down since going on hiatus in 2022.

Despite releasing singles such as 'SLAY' and 'ZOMBIE,' the group's overall promotional activities appear limited. One of the moments that shook the public occurred in March 2025, when Yiren revealed that during her six-year career under Yuehua, she had never received payment.

This confession was conveyed directly through a fan communication platform and immediately drew widespread attention and sharp criticism of the agency's management. Yuehua Entertainment's CEO also responded, but there was no further official statement clarifying the members' financial condition.

After news of the contract termination broke, Sihyeon went live on TikTok to talk directly to fans. In a relaxed atmosphere, she emphasized that although the members will be leaving Yuehua, they have no intention of disbanding EVERGLOW. " We're not thinking about disbanding EVERGLOW.

We're just... yeah, leaving the company, " Sihyeon said, as quoted by Koreaboo on Tuesday on May 13, 2025. The EVERGLOW leader also responded to the wishes of FOREVER (the name for EVERGLOW fans) who hoped that they would leave the agency, following various worrying news that had circulated several months previously.

He said that all members have the same view, which is to stay together as a group, regardless of their contract status with Yuehua.  " We will definitely stay as a group. All members have the same thoughts. All fans want us to leave Yuehua, right? " he continued.

The decision not to renew their contracts has caused sadness among fans, but also a sense of relief. Many fans feel that the members deserved a better chance, especially after the various controversies surrounding management.

Some netizen comments reflected hopes that the members could start over with a more supportive agency: " They deserve better. Hopefully they can re-debut somewhere that truly appreciates them, " wrote one Reddit user.

Yuehua Entertainment itself, in its official statement, expressed its gratitude to the fans who have given love and support to EVERGLOW over the years. They also stated that they will continue to support the members' individual journeys in the future. This separation certainly left a deep impression, both for fans and the Korean entertainment industry.

However, the members' enthusiasm to stay together as a group gives a glimmer of hope that this is not the end of EVERGLOW's journey, but the beginning of a new, more promising chapter. The entertainment world awaits the next steps of the members, both solo and as a group under a new agency.
