ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo has been accepted into the Army Band and will be carrying out his mandatory military service. Reported by Koreaboo, he will begin his mandatory military service on July 28, 2025 as announced by the Military Manpower Administration.

Before confirmation, a representative from Fantagio, Cha Eun Woo’s agency, explained that the artist applied to be a member of the Army Military Band in late March 2025. The entertainment company also explained that Cha Eun Woo followed the proper procedures and completed the interview.

“We were told that the results will be announced on May 29, 2024,” they said. With this announcement, Cha Eun Woo becomes the second ASTRO member to enlist in the military. Previously, Kim Myung Jun had already completed his military service.

His teammate completed his military service as a member of the South Korean military band in a period of one year and six months. Fantagio gave a statement regarding Cha Eun Woo's upcoming military enlistment.

Reported by Soompi, Fantagio thanked AROHA, the name for ASTRO fans. They explained that Cha Eun Woo had applied to join the Army Military Band and received a final acceptance notice from the Military Manpower Administration on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

“He will enter the training center on July 28, 2025 and undergo basic military training before fulfilling his duties in the Army Military Band,” Fantagio said in a statement. The agency also said that the location and time Cha Eun Woo will start his military service will be kept secret.

This is to avoid accidents due to traffic jams of fans who want to accompany him to the barracks. The agency also emphasized that there will be no farewell party for fans. At the end of the statement, Fantagio asked AROHA to continue to support Cha Eun Woo during his military service.
