ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo has been confirmed to enlist in the military this year. It was revealed that he had registered for the military band and had been in the process of enlisting for several months.
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Fantagio, as the agency, announced that ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo will be enlisting in the military in July 2025 considering that he has been accepted by the military band.
“Cha Eun Woo applied for the military band and received notification from the military administration today,” Fantagio said. “He will enter the training center on July 28, 2025 and begin basic military training before fulfilling his duties in the military band,” they explained.
The agency stated that there is no official event planned for Cha Eun Woo's discharge day, so they hope that fans will not gather at the training center because the ceremony will be held with family and close relatives.
“To avoid accidents due to crowds on the day of departure, the location and time Cha Eun Woo will depart will be private and no separate events will be held,” the agency said.
“We ask for your support for Cha Eun Woo as he fulfills his military duties and returns in good condition. Thank you,” Fantagio concluded. Cha Eun Woo debuted as a member of the group ASTRO in 2016, but previously he had been a model and had a small role in a film.
Since 2021, Eun Woo and other ASTRO members have started to focus on solo activities, as well as starring in dramas and films. He most recently starred in the drama Wonderful World and the show Rented in Finland.
Later, he will appear in the drama The Wonder Fools with Park Eun Bin and the film The First Ride. He also launched his solo album titled Entity in 2024. Recently, he appeared as a model in IU's music video, A Beautiful Person.
