Tao, who was previously part of the group EXO, has become a hot topic in China for opening a company to sell women's sanitary napkins. Now, the business of the owner of the real name Huang Zitao is getting bigger and requires him to recruit more employees.

Tao even opened a job opening with a salary offer of up to five times the national average. According to media reports on April 30, 2025, Tao's sanitary napkin brand DUOWEI recently posted a recruitment notice.

The list emphasizes three criteria: female-friendly, college degree or higher, and no specific major required. DUOWEI is currently recruiting for several positions, including e-commerce channel manager, live broadcast host, product manager, content editor, designer, and head of distribution and sales.

In particular, the salary for the head of distribution and sales is recorded at 30 thousand yuan. Given that the average monthly wage in China in 2023 is 6,050 yuan, this is almost five times the national average.

Tao launched the brand after expressing his anger over a controversial CCTV report that exposed the reuse of sanitary napkins in China.  He promised transparency by live streaming the production process 24/7 and giving away 50,000 free product samples during the launch.

However, some have criticized Tao for possibly turning a social issue into a marketing opportunity. DUOWEI is not a new brand, but has been around as a brand that sells sanitary napkins online.

Netizens pointed out that some of DUOWEI's previous products, including sanitary napkins and diapers, had been criticized for their low quality, raising suspicions that Tao may have taken over the troubled factory and is now changing its image.

Other netizens also highlighted that the transition, from acquisition to product development and testing—was completed in less than a month, further fueling skepticism. Despite this, Tao’s product continues to grow rapidly.

Meanwhile, Tao debuted in 2012 as a member of EXO, but left the group in 2015 after filing a lawsuit against his agency to terminate his exclusive contract. Since then, he has been active in the Chinese entertainment industry.
