7 Eleven Taiwan is reportedly preparing a lawsuit for damages against South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun, who was involved in a dating controversy with the late Kim Sae Ron when the artist was still a minor.
According to a report by Sanli News Network, 7 Eleven Taiwan is considering a lawsuit for damages of 130 million Taiwan dollars, equivalent to 6 billion won against Kim Soo Hyun.
7 Eleven Taiwan initially held a fan meeting event ahead of the launch of several new products, coffee, and cup sleeves with the actor as their model. However, the event was canceled after Kim Soo Hyun was involved in a controversy.
The estimated loss from the cancellation of the product launch was around 100 million Taiwan dollars (about 4.6 billion won), and if added to the amount of discarded products and advertising losses, the total reached 130 million Taiwan dollars.
In addition, 7 Eleven Taiwan had planned to invite Kim Soo-hyun as a model for the Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival last March 2025, but the plan was canceled following controversy.
At that time, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, clarified that the schedule in Taiwan was canceled due to stability reasons and was not a cancellation.
Meanwhile, 7 Eleven Taiwan has not provided any comment regarding the planned lawsuit against Kim Soo Hyun. Not only 7 Eleven Taiwan, Kim Soo Hyun received large lawsuits from several companies who felt aggrieved by his scandal with the late Kim Sae Ron.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun was accused of dating Kim Sae Ron for six years and started dating when the actress was still a minor. However, in a press conference on March 31, 2025, Kim Soo Hyun denied dating when Kim Sae Ron was a minor.
