The controversy involving the name of Korean footballer, Son Heung Min continues. Previously on Wednesday May 14, 2025, Son Heung Min was reported to have been the victim of blackmail by a woman who claimed to be pregnant with his child. Now a fact has been revealed that shocked the public.
Son Heung Min's agency, Son & Football Limited, initially filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul. Police then arrested a woman who claimed to be pregnant with his child, Yang, in her 20s, along with a man in his 40s, Yoon. The two reportedly demanded a large amount of hush money from the athlete.
"We have filed a complaint with the police against the group that threatened him by spreading false information to extort money. We emphasize that Son Heung Min is clearly the victim in this case," Son Heung Min's agency said in a statement, as reported by ChosunBiz.
A source later revealed that the woman who claimed to be pregnant with Son Heung Min's child, Yang, had indeed been in a relationship with him. In June 2024, Yang contacted Son Heung Min's agency and reported that she was pregnant and showed photos of her ultrasound results.
However, Son Heung Min's agency was worried that it could damage her career and asked Yang to keep her pregnancy a secret. She was required to sign a contract and receive 300 million won. The situation escalated when Yang had cut off contact with Son Heung Min earlier this year and started a new relationship with Yoon.
After learning about Yang's past relationship with Son Heung Min, Yoon reportedly tried to blackmail the footballer again in March 2025. As reported by Koreaboo, Yoon threatened to spread rumors of Son Heung Min's ex Yang's pregnancy and demanded a payment of 70 million won.
The manager who had been receiving Yoon's threats for months finally told Son Heung Min.In response, Son Heung Min ordered his agency to take strong legal action. No money was sent to Yoon. The man reportedly has a criminal record and has committed blackmail before.
After checking hospital records, police confirmed that Yang gave Son Heung Min the original ultrasound photo and had an abortion.
