South Korean singer and actress Lee Hyeri Girl's Day has been offered to star in a new drama. According to local media reports on Tuesday May 20, 2025, Lee Hyeri was asked to play the main female role in a new drama titled Chair Time ( working title).
Sublime Artist Agency, Lee Hyeri's agency, confirmed the news. They said Chair Time is one of the new projects being reviewed by Ryu Jun Yeol's ex-girlfriend. "She received an offer to star (in the drama) and it is one of the projects she is currently reviewing," a statement from the agency.
Chair Time tells the story of Lee In Young, a successful executive who ignores her life principles due to the harsh realities of life. In the midst of her life's turmoil, she meets a dentist named Jo Chi Soo. Unexpectedly, the meeting brought benefits to In Young and Chi Soo.
Because both of them could heal each other's wounds in the past so they could love each other. Lee Hyeri was asked to play the character of Jo Chi Soo, a dentist and management consultant who is trying to rebuild his clinic.
Before Lee Hyeri was reported, actress Park Shin Hye was the first to receive the offer to play the character. Lee Hyeri debuted as an actress in 2012 through the drama Tasty Life. Her appearance then amazed the public after becoming the main character in the drama Reply 1988 which aired in 2015.
Her acting in the drama received praise from critics and audiences. Thanks to her role, Lee Hyeri won several awards ranging from the APAN Star Awards, Korean Wave Awards, to the tvN10 Awards.
Lee Hyeri last starred in the drama May I Help You? in 2022 and her latest drama Friendly Rivalry premiered on February 10, 2025. In addition to dramas, Lee Hyeri has also starred in several films. Most recently, she was involved in a film project that will be released entitled Tropical Night.
