The new Korean drama 'Good Boy' is in the spotlight because it reunites Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun after years of fans waiting. Good Boy is a teen crime action-comedy drama that tells the story of a group of medal-winning athletes who are specially recruited to become members of the police force.
Kim So Hyun couldn't hide her enthusiasm to work with Park Bo Gum again. She revealed that the decision to join the project was made as soon as she found out Bo Gum was starring in the drama.
"As soon as I heard Park Bo Gum was involved, I immediately knew I had to be a part of this project," said Kim So Hyun on Friday May 30, 2025. "We first met as MCs at the 2015 KBS Drama Awards and at that time, the moment I looked serious went viral.
Since then, many fans have hoped that we will star together in a drama," he continued. Park Bo Gum also warmly welcomed the collaboration. He revealed that he had long wanted to act with Kim So Hyun.
“We met again at an awards show after that. I told So Hyun that there was a project I wanted to work on with her. I’m glad she remembered that and accepted the role. She fits the role of Hanna perfectly.
I’m sure many viewers will see a new side of her and fall for her charms,” Bo Gum said. A deep impression also came from the working atmosphere on the set. Park Bo Gum praised the production team's cooperation which he considered very solid.
"The director gave clear directions, the lighting designer adjusted the tone for each character, and the action director presented intense yet realistic action scenes. I hope Good Boy can be a reference for similar dramas in the future," he said.
Fellow project member Lee Sang Yi also commented on the drama’s production quality, emphasizing that the best appreciation for Good Boy is not just about individual achievements, but collective achievements. "If this drama wins an award, I hope it's for Best Drama, Best Direction, or Best Cinematography," he said.
