After a long wait, Squid Game Season 3 finally shows signs of life with the release of an official poster, teaser trailer, and new stills. Netflix officially announced that the final season of the popular series will air simultaneously on June 27, 2025.

Not only does it return to showing the typical thrilling tension, this third season also promises a game that is more deadly and full of surprises. The series continues to focus on the main character Seong Gi Hun (played by Lee Jung Jae), who re-enters the deadly game with a personal mission.

After losing his close friend, Jung Bae (Lee Seo Hwan), in a failed rebellion attempt, Gi Hun is now filled with anger and a deep sense of loss. Quoting from Soompi on Wednesday May 7, 2025, the latest poster shows him standing among coffins decorated with pink ribbons, depicting the dark atmosphere that will dominate this third season.

The teaser begins with a shocking scene, guards in pink carrying a coffin into the trainees' dormitory, accompanied by cheerful music that only adds to the tense atmosphere. Tensions rise when the coffin opens to reveal Gi Hun opening his eyes, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the series.

The surviving contestants are gathered in a mysterious room with a key-like design and a knife-shaped door. They must then choose a colored ball at random, which marks the beginning of a new game in a deadly maze arena. Each challenge seems more complicated and brutal than the last, increasing the physical and psychological burden on the contestants.

The trailer also shows preparations for a lavish party for the VIPs who were absent in season two. This is a strong signal that the game has entered its final stage, or “endgame,” where the elite audience returns to watch the life-and-death battle from behind their luxurious screens.

The return of the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), who previously disguised himself and led the game from behind a mask, adds a new layer of mystery. His cold expression in the new stills hints that there will be a major confrontation between him and Gi Hun this season. Not only that, a number of old and new characters also get the spotlight.

Among them are Myung Gi (Yim Si Wan), Dae Ho (Kang Ha Neul), Hyun Ju (Park Sung Hoon), Yong Sik (Yang Dong Geun), Geum Ja (Kang Ae Shim), Seon Nyeo (Chae Gook Hee), Min Su (David Lee), Nam Gyu (Roh Jae Won), and of course Jun Hee (Jo Yu Ri), a pregnant participant whose presence raises big questions about her fate and the baby she is carrying.

One disturbing scene comes at the end of the teaser: the sound of a baby crying echoes through the chaos of the arena, drawing attention to Jun Hee. The audience is left wondering—will she be able to survive, or will she fall victim to the cruelty of the system? No Eul (Park Gyu Young) also steals the show.

She is now seen without a mask and wandering alone in the arena, as if she has broken free from the rules that bind the game guards. Her stern and conflicted expression suggests that she may be pursuing a personal agenda. Meanwhile, Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon) continues his mission to find the hidden location of the game.

A still shows him gasping for air on the beach with an oxygen tank, hinting that he may have found the island where the game takes place. However, it is uncertain whether he will return safely or end up trapped inside. The visuals shown in the teaser and stills reinforce the dark and tragic tone of this final season.

The contestants look more exhausted, more desperate, and more brutal than ever. Signs that each game will be the final battle for many characters are starting to become clear. The third season will consist of a total of six episodes, all of which will be released at once on June 27, 2025.

This will allow viewers to binge-watch straight away and dive into the end of this deadly saga without having to wait weekly. With increasingly creepy visuals, increasingly complex characters, and increasingly dangerous gameplay, Squid Game Season 3 looks set to end the series with a bang.

All the elements point to the fact that this time, no one is safe—not even the main character. Squid Game Season 3 looks like it won't just be a continuation of the familiar story, but also a farewell full of emotion, blood, and higher stakes. Prepare yourself to watch the final chapter of this deadliest game starting June 27, 2025, only on Netflix!
