This time, it is the turn of director Stefano Sollima to work on the film. Meanwhile, Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro are still the main stars. But unlike the previous film, there is no more Emily Blunt in this 122-minute film. 'Sicario: Day of the Soldado' also followed the success of its predecessor.

In terms of rating, IMDb gave a score of 7.1 stars. Meanwhile, ticket sales revenue reached US$ 75.8 million, despite a production cost of US$ 35 million. As quoted from CNNIndonesia.com, a supermarket in the United States was the target of a terror attack masterminded by a Mexican drug cartel.

Around 15 people died in the incident. Matt Graver (Josh Brolin), a CIA agent, recruits Mexican police officer Gillick (Benicio del Toro) to fight a drug cartel suspected of smuggling terrorists across the US-Mexico border.

During the mission, Gillick killed a prominent lawyer for the Matamoros cartel gang based in Mexico City. Elsewhere, Graver and his team capture Isabel Reyes, the daughter of Carlos Reyes' rival cartel gang, Matamoros.

Graver, Gillick and their team take Isabel to a safe house in Texas, United States. Unexpectedly, this escalates the conflict between the cartels in Mexico. Amidst the chaos, Isabel manages to escape from the hideout.

Gillick pursues her while the rest of the team returns to the United States in turmoil. In the midst of the fighting, the CIA orders Graver to erase all evidence of American involvement in the inter-cartel war by killing Isabel and Gillick.

Graver then warns Gillick and orders him to kill Isabel, but Gillick refuses and tries to protect her from the assassination attempt. Don't miss 'Sicario: Day of the Soldado' coming to Trans TV Cinema on Wednesday May 7, 2025 at 23.00 WIB.
