Leader of South Korean boy group ASTRO, Park Jin-woo, better known by his stage name Jinjin was declared not to have attended military service, an activity that must be carried out by men in South Korea.
The agency that oversees the group, Fantagio, gave an explanation of the statement. On Monday, June 2, 2025, Fantagio announced that JinJin did not pass the selection after conducting a medical examination as an initial requirement.
"JinJin was declared unfit for military duty after a health check by the Military Administration due to health problems related to autoimmune conditions," Fantagio's agency said revealing JinJin's condition.
Even though his condition has no impact on daily activities, he needs regular hospital visits for treatment. Based on medical opinion, it will be difficult for him to participate in military activities under these conditions, so he is given an exception for military duty obligations, "explained the agency.
Ending his statement, the agency said that the priority for the health of their artists has always been placed as a top priority. Our company prioritizes the health of our artists and continues to support their activities. We are grateful for your love and support and ask you to continue to support JinJin," he said.
Currently, ASTRO members are busy with solo activities after holding a single concert last April 2025. Before JinJin, other ASTRO members- Cha Eun Woo were confirmed to join the military service starting next July in the military band.
