ASTRO's JinJin has been declared exempt from military service, a mandatory activity for men in South Korea. The agency that oversees the group, Fantagio, has provided an explanation regarding the statement.

In a statement, on Monday, June 2, 2025, Fantagio announced that Park Jin-woo, better known by his stage name Jinjin did not pass the selection after undergoing a medical examination as a preliminary requirement.

“JinJin was declared unfit for military duty after a health examination by the Military Administration due to health issues related to an autoimmune condition,” said agency Fantagio revealing JinJin’s condition.

"Although his condition does not affect his daily activities, he requires regular hospital visits for treatment. Based on medical opinion, it would be difficult for him to participate in military activities in his condition, so he was granted an exemption from military service," the agency explained.

Concluding their statement, the agency said that prioritizing the health of their artists is always a top priority. "Our company prioritizes the health of our artist and continues to support his activities. We thank you for your love and support and ask that you continue to support JinJin," agency said.

Currently, ASTRO members are busy with solo activities after holding a solo concert last April. Before JinJin, another ASTRO member- Cha Eun Woo was confirmed to enlist in the military starting next July in the military band.
