2025 is definitely going to be one of the busiest years for NCTzens. Besides the NCT group's concerts and comebacks , there's also someone who's planning a solo debut: Haechan! SM Entertainment confirmed this.
On Tuesday July 29, 2025, it was reported that Maeil Kyungjae, whose real name is Lee Dong Hyeok, will debut as a soloist in September 2025. "He is currently preparing a solo album for September 2025," the management said in a brief statement to local South Korean media.
Haechan debuted as a member of NCT 127 in July 2016. He was then announced to join and debut with the sub-unit NCT DREAM the following month. Throughout his career in NCT, Haechan has showcased a variety of concepts and demonstrated exceptional vocal performance.
He's explored all genres, from pop to ballads. There's a year gap between the June 6, 2000-born man's debut in NCT and his solo debut. It's quite a while, but it's definitely worth it! Haechan has been incredibly busy this year.
He successfully completed NCT 127's 'NEO CITY - THE MOMENTUM' world tour, participated in Mark's solo album on the track +82 Pressin', and NCT DREAM's 'THE DREAM SHOW 4: DREAM THE FUTURE' world tour in Seoul.
He's also actively promoting NCT DREAM's recently released new album, "Go Back To The Future." Last week, their lead track, "BTTF," made it onto the Melon Top 100 chart. Haechan will also be stopping by Jakarta on his 'THE DREAM SHOW 4: DREAM THE FUTURE' world tour on September 27-28, 2025.
Will his solo album be released before this concert? It would be exciting if there was a special Haechan solo session at the concert!So far, there is no definite date from SM Entertainment for the release of Haechan's solo album.
