Following the news of Myung Jaehyun's resignation, Sung Hanbin will also leave M Countdown. As reported by IZE on Tuesday September 2, 2025, ZEROBASEONE's Sung Hanbin will be stepping down from his MC position on Mnet's music show M Countdown on Thursday September 4, 2025.
The previous day, IZE announced that BOYNEXTDOOR 's Myung Jaehyun would be stepping down as MC. The two will end their long association with M Countdown on the same day. Sung Hanbin has stable hosting skills and unique energy during his time as an MC.
He has also shown his abilities as a host by becoming the MC for Mnet's dance survival show World of Street Woman Fighter, which aired last May. Last January 2025, Sung Hanbin and Myung Jaehyun joined M Countdown as MCs alongside Riize's Sohee.
The chemistry of the three of them got an extraordinary response from K-Pop fans and earned them the nickname “Shine meongddocat”. With the departure of all these personnel, M Countdown will now be under a new MC system.
Now, attention is on who will take over this position, who can bring the program to life with the stable chemistry that the previous MCs have built. Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE, the group that houses Sung Hanbin, made a comeback on September 1, 2025 with the release of their first full album “NEVER SAY NEVER”.
